Gionee Goes into Liquidation, Finally Declares Bankruptcy

For a couple of months now, we haven't been seeing new phones from Gionee, and it's been getting their fans and customers worried. I knew something was wrong somewhere. And now, the official update is here.

According to source ; A court in Shenzhen has accepted the application for liquidation bankruptcy by Huaxing Bank. This may still turn into a company reorganization – Gionee hired restructuring consultants last week. Founder Liu Lirong thinks that the company can turn its fortunes around in 3-5 years.
However, Gionee owes a total of CNY 20.2 billion (around $3 billion) to 648 creditors. About half of the debt is to banks. Earlier this year the company failed to pay suppliers. Ad agencies haven’t been paid either.
The company money problem started when the founder and chairman Liu lost a CNY 1 billion bet in a casino.
Liu admitted in the interview that Gionee’s total debts amount to 17 billion yuan ($2,447,065,000), with 10 billion yuan($1,439,450,000) of this owed to banks, 5 bi…

Robbers Killed During Shootout In Calabar. Graphic Photo

The Police Command in Cross River, has killed five suspected armed robbery gang who engaged the police in a gun duel shortly after robbing a filling station at Atu Street in Calabar on Sunday.

Mr Hafiz Inuwa, the Commissioner of Police in the state, who briefed newsmen on the incident at the Atakpa Police Station, said the robbers invaded the filling station on Sunday morning.

 “Some of these armed robbers are giving us problems in Calabar municipality.

”These set of robbers were caught up in a gun battle with the police shortly after they robbed a filling station in Atu area of Calabar South.

 “They had a shoot-out with the police and our men were able to gun down five of them. These were the same gang that we already have their profile.

Man Almost Lynched By Angry Mobs for Having Affair With a Widow

An Okada man popularly known as Abu who commute in popular market "Orie Oduma", was almost lynched by angry mobs for having affair with Widow late Mrs Owelle. The incident happened in Oduma town in Aninri LGA of Enugu state. 
As of now no fewer than 20 miscreants from Amagu are on the run after they beat up an okada man whom was very friendly with a widow from the community.
The widow has explained what actually happened, Mr Abu was accused of dating the widow Mrs owelle oforkpa, Mr Abu is a native of Amankpume but operates his okada business at Orie market. The widow is a petty trader at the market. She became very friendly with Abu because of how he had been very helpful to her since the demise of her husband.

The gang that attacked Mr abu are allies of the late Owelle oforkpa whom is known as a gang leader of a very deadly and notorious group.
